Last year I decided to take my photography more seriously and start my own business. After 12 months of doing location shoots I expanded my portfolio and had many opportunities to practice my skills and technique with natural lighting in bridal, bohemian & lifestyle themed shoots. This year my focus is to learn how to manipulate light in a studio environment and create some jaw dropping portraits in my very own home.
Bright colours and gorgeous jewels was the theme for this shoot. I had the wonderful opportunity of having a beautiful array of earrings from Jadewood Designs. Her pieces are simply breathing and so unique!
Jess from Tropic makeup & beauty was the makeup artist for the shoot and was excited to use the bright coloured palettes she hadn't had the chance to use. We also had two models Mallory & Holly commute out to my small home studio setup.
I was a tiny bit nervous about how the photos would turn out however I think the day was a perfect learning experience. I am so happy with how it all went and have learnt so much about my studio environment.
I HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT DETAIL IS EVERYTHING....
Hair, nails, makeup and accessories need to be perfect!
Watch out for shadows!
Get a paper roll backdrop, material backdrops are a pain!
